WEBS - Innovative Solutions for water and wastewater treatment

Laboratory Services

WEBS’ UKAS accredited analytical laboratory undertakes a full range of analyses for the water, wastewater treatment and food industries. WEBS' technical staff are able to provide interpretation of results and if required offer advice.

WEBS was instrumental in the development of the AMTOXTM online and laboratory biotoxicity monitors for nitrification inhibition in water and wastewater processes.

On-line toxicity monitors

On-line toxicity monitors are available in 3 versions to measure:

  • river quality and municipal WTW raw water intake
  • discharge consent of final effluent
  • influent toxicity at municipal and industrial treatment works

Laboratory toxicity monitors

Laboratory toxicity monitors are used for both acute and chronic tests and for all sample types, including samples with no ammonia content.  The culture used has a guaranteed activity giving reproduceable results.

UKAS accredited analyses

The following analyses are carried out by the laboratory, using UKAS accredited methods: chemical oxygen demand, ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, total oxidised nitrogen, pH, chloride, suspended solids and phosphate phosphorus.

The laboratory also offers a comprehensive range of bio-toxicity testing services, either on-site, or at the Banbury laboratory.  These tests include alternative toxicity testing methods such as nitrification inhibition, microbial respiration, Biotox and Microtox.

Additional analyses

Additional analyses provided include: biochemical oxygen demand, volatile solids (organic / inorganic content), nitrification inhibition testing, biodegradation studies, total nitrogen, total phosphate, conductivity, alkalinity, oxygen uptake rate and various metal and non-metal analyses.

Accreditation

WEBS - UKAS accredited laboratoryWEBS’ laboratory has been awarded UKAS accreditation
(lab number 2608), conforming to BS EN ISO 17025:2000.
